Since its introduction, solid insulated ring main unit has been recognized by users for its environmental protection, safety, intelligence, and flexibility, and a considerable number of them have been put into use in various industries across the country. Members of the solid insulated ring main unit technical discussion group of the National Power Transmission and Distribution Technology Cooperation Network (hereinafter referred to as the Cooperation Network) conducted research on four special issues of solid insulated ring main units: optimization research on solid insulated ring main unit combination schemes, research on solid insulated ring main unit semiconductor coating technology, visual fracture experimental research on solid insulated ring main unit, and research on key technologies of solid insulated ring main unit.
In order to ensure the authenticity, accuracy and strong reference of the conclusive opinions on special issues, the Cooperation Network organized switch experts and discussion group members to conduct research on four special issues of solid insulated ring main units in the form of online research combined with offline research. The online research used a survey questionnaire to survey the members of the group, and the offline research visited 6 user units and 4 manufacturing units. A total of 15 user units and manufacturing units participated in this survey, including 9 manufacturing units and 6 user units, and a total of 20 participants.
The online survey used a survey questionnaire to collect opinions from group members on four special issues of solid insulated ring network cabinets. In the offline survey, switch experts and discussion group members had technical exchanges with users on the use, operation and current equipment problems of local solid insulated ring network cabinets and visited the equipment operation status on site. Exchanges were made with manufacturers on the manufacturing and process of solid insulated ring network cabinets and other related technologies, and the equipment manufacturing workshop was visited to understand the equipment manufacturing situation.
Conclusion of the survey on special issues of solid insulated ring network cabinets
The survey opinions are summarized to form conclusive opinions for reference by users and manufacturers of solid insulated ring network cabinets, to promote the innovation and application level of solid insulated ring network cabinets, and to further promote the large-scale application of solid insulated ring network cabinets.

The shielding measures taken on the outer surface of solid insulation are not just about the touch problem, but also create effective supervision conditions for insulation defects in the manufacturing process and insulation aging after long-term operation. For the phenomenon of partial discharge index being slightly reduced after applying the semiconducting coating, the reasons should be sought from the structural design and process manufacturing to solve the problem. It is recommended to conduct in-depth research on the shielding measures on the outer surface of solid insulation.
Experimental study on the visible fracture of solid insulated ring network cabinet
Since the front-line maintenance personnel are not very familiar with the structure of the product they maintain, once they touch it by mistake, it may cause a disaster, so setting up an effective visual observation window is a problem that many front-line maintenance personnel are very concerned about.
From the above small-scale survey, there is no clear opposition to setting up a visual window, but the "actual effect of the visual window is not very ideal"; therefore, the "visual window" is not a decoration, and the manufacturer should start from the actual operation and take into account the actual situation of strong sunlight of outdoor products to achieve effective visibility.
